We are so thrilled that we found out about Rosa Pomar and her Lisbon-based team, Retrosaria, who are making this special yarn. Brusca is made from two sheep breeds that are native to Portugal, Saloia and Portuguese Merino. It is grown, scoured, milled and dyed in Portugal. Rosa's heart lies with learning about and preserving traditional Portuguese textiles and the culture of raising sheep as a way of life.
At Verb, we love knitting with yarns that have a story, and a transparent supply chain, so we love Retrosaria yarns. We love the durability and color range of this yarn - perfect for your next colorwork knitting, weaving, or punch-needle project.
Patterns we love:
- Alice Caetano's in
- Rosa Pomar's own
- Isabell Kraemer's colorwork pullover
Hand wash only.
